The project for the first Through the looking glass album has been accepted by Kickstarter. For those of you that dont know about Kickstarter it is a :

I have left it open for the time being so everyone can look at it, suggest changes etc. If this kickstarter project is successful it will pay for our first release without any of us having to put a hand in our pockets ! However I cant act as a fund because I do not have an American bank account so we have to try and find someone who has an American bank account AND that we can trust with a few thousand dollars. I suggest an established artist who already has plenty of money but we shall see.....

I like the sound of this Kickstarter. I have an American bank account, and you can trust me with any amount of money; I really don't care about money: I am more concerned with producing wonderful music and art; so I would follow any direction given with any money granted to my account. I am not a sketchy person. But then again, how would you know? I am also not an established artist, although my belief in art far surpasses anyone's that I know. It's whatever really. I am just willing to help get this whole project started. So post or contact me if you have anything to say. Thanks.

On the subject of the money - I would not expect anybody to trust anyone (including me) when it comes to money and the internet. This is nothing personal of course but merely common sense seeing as none of us actually know each other - I was wondering if there is any way some sort of collective bank account could be opened which included the names of all those involved in the project - whereby no money could be removed without the approval of all - or something along those lines ?

Have you done online collaborations like this in the past, Augustine? If so, how did you handle the finances then?

I'm not sure if he has ever done this before, but it seems as though Augustine hasn't tried such a project yet. I was talking to my friend about this and described to him your description, Augustine, of what you're trying to accomplish with a joint account involving all the members of the project. He related to me that this sounded like a description of trying to open a business account in which all of what you said applies. So we should research this possibility of opening a business account for our kick-started album; something that pertains to our situation.
This also makes me think of a whole slew of possibilities stemming from this album if we can actually make this work. Business account.

Hi -
No this is the first time I have done such a thing ! So business account eh ? I have had one of those here in England for a record label but dont know about the procedure for doing it in america. Perhaps someone could investigate what needs to be done to open a business acount in the US ? I will look online as well.
